365 Pictures 10-23 March

Hello,
Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!!!!  Hope you have a blessed Palm Sunday.  We woke up to ice & 3 inches of snow with more coming down.  Won't be able to make it to church this morning, roads are TOO slippery.

Well I miss last week, sorry.  I don't know where that week went, but have pictures for it.  The first week my oldest son was home for spring break.  This past week my youngest son was home for spring break & then all 4 of us were together for Friday & Saturday.  So here are my two weeks.....

Okay, subbed all day today, so I stole a picture from the deer cam.  Really should be called the turkey cam, we had more of those than deer.  They are starting to fight each other for male dominance. This one is strutting to so he is the boss.

 Motor made a great escape outside.  Our cats are indoor cats, less flea problem.  He immediately ran to the back & parked himself outside my picture window to wait for the birds to come to the feeder.  The birds were too smart for him & never came.

 I gave my presentation of my trip to Cameroon, Africa at church tonight for evening service.  My hubby took the picture for me.  I wearing a hand made shirt I bought in Cameroon.

 I subbed all day.  Josh borrowed my camera to take some pictures for one of his conservation classes.  He was trying to get some pictures of different birds.  He also decided to get some pictures of other things.  This old wagon is on a farm near ours.  He calls this picture "Time Marches On"

 We had a bobcat come through at 11:56pm.  Wish he would walk a little slower so we could get a better picture.  We had two pictures of bobcats this week.

 We have had a problem all week with a sewer smell coming into the house.  Our sewer line is fine, so the guy who check it said to start looking under the house for some sort of leak where the city line connects in.  Our house is at least 116 years old or older.  This is an old air vent that is under our washing machine.  We opened the vent to look under this part of the house since the smell is strongest here.

My son Josh hung upside down to look under & everything is dry.  We did find this old well that they built the house over with a pipe attached to it.  The pipe does go into our basement, but is shut off because they ran the well dry before we bought the house in 1991.  Why would you build a house over a well???  This is the second well this house was built over.

Wood came home Friday night to spend some time with his brother & us.  Saturday we went to the firing range & shot some pistols.  This is me firing a revolver.

 On the way home, Josh spotted this American Bald Eagle Nest near our home.  He took the picture with his camera because it has a better zoom than my camera.  Now we will have to watch & see when the eagles come back to use it.

I had our Women on Mission meeting this morning at church.  We are down to one car this week, so I dropped my husband off at work & got to church a little early but just in time to see the sun starting to come up over the town of Bethany.

I had bought some Red Velvet pancake mix to use for Valentine's day.  Since I was gone, we had them tonight for supper.  They cooked a little fast but still were very good.

The big snow storm is here.  This was taken around 6:30am.  We have about two inches of snow on the ground & ended up with 6 inches by the end of the day.

The snow has driven the birds to eat out of the deer feeder.  I love the cardinals & blue jays in this pic.

Another new animal on the farm.  The animal to the right is a mink.  Yep, we have minks on our farm, along with the deer, turkeys, foxes & bobcats.  It is turning in to a zoo out there.

Pamper day - while I was gone my hubby was so nice & got me a gift certificate for a pedicure for Valentine's day.  I decided to use it today because my feet need some extra pampering after my trip.

Yes, my Christmas decorations are still up.  I look at it this way - I spend two or three days decorating & it is only up for a month, needs a little more time (ha, ha).  I decided to play with the flare setting on my new camera.  I found out with this picture it puts flare to anything that is shiny, OH MY a little too much, but at least I'm learning what to take on this setting & what not to take.

Today is my 45th birthday!!!!  I got a snow storm for my birthday with ice as an extra bonus.  I had to go to town to get my hair cut for my trip.  I'm soooo glad I have 4-wheel drive.  What normally takes 20 min. to drive to 45min.  On the way home I did stop to take a picture of the snow drifts & blowing across the road.

Well, I'm packed to head to Teen Mission International tomorrow, then onto Cameroon, Africa on Tuesday.  One bag is my stuff & the red gym bag has some shoes it in for the orphans we will work with.

Sad day, we had to put Grouchy to sleep.  She had a good life of 9 years & 10 months. Before we did, we took several "last" pictures of her.  Wood was back home for one last time before starting classes.  Grouchy was his cat, that we got when he was 12 years old.

I had planned to make a bunch of peanut brittle for my boys while they were home, but it didn't happen, So then I was going to make some for Josh to take back to school, since he went back first, again didn't happen (not use to working outside the homes so much). So this afternoon, I made a batch of peanut brittle to send to my son Josh at college.  YEAH!!!  Wood is home for another two weeks, then I will make some for him to take to college with him.  This is really good peanut brittle & easy to make.  I will have the recipe at my blog

YEAH!!!! Mom bought herself new shoes which means we have boxes in the house again.  I think this shoe box was empty maybe 5 min before it was fill with a cat.  Grouchy is very happy right now.

Okay I subbed Kindergarten today & also got to play with another setting on my new camera.  This is the room I was in all day.  My new camera has a setting called "Sparkle".  Notice how the metal on the chairs has little "flairs" or "stars" to them.  The camera added those when I took this picture in "Sparkle Mode"  I tried this mode on some people & the only thing that had a flare was the light in the picture, so I guess it adds "flares" to shiny or lighted things.

no picture again, but here is another one from the deer cam, it is a FOX!!.  We knew we had some foxes on our farm, but they are hard to get a picture of two fast for the camera.  I was happy to see this pic.

Cats - my cats - one of the regular items/people/children in my life.  Cat photo shoot at 10:00pm - mainly because I didn't have a picture for today & didn't like have three days in a row with no pictures.  Then it turned into a photo shoot as my son took a couple more pictures.
