I'm baaaaaaack!!! For a short time, going on another mission trip but will explain that later. Okay, since I was packing for my mission trip - a ten day trip, no doing laundry, living in a tent etc. - I didn't have time to take pictures. I know should have taken pictures of my packing adventure, but it didn't cross my mind until after the fact. Sooooooo 12-15 June will be pictures off my husband's deer cam while I was gone. By the way he received another trail cam for Father's Day, so we now have three. This new one takes nicer pictures. So here are some pics from our farm.

The fawns have been born!!!! Her is a mommy with her twins. After a doe has had her first pregnancy, all following pregnancies are twins or triplets. That is why we have soooo many deer!!!

My son Wood & I. It was great to see him. Since my team wasn't coming until tomorrow & Saturday. I was able to spend some time with my son Wood & his teen team that is going to Russia or I should say is in Russia now. I was able to eat supper with his team. After today we would see each other in passing or in the dish line etc.

I moved into my tent today. Peanut Tent City. Usually each peanut team (ages 7-9yrs) has its own campsite in the woods but this year Teen Missions (TMI for short) decided to put all the Peanuts together. This was nice because we were closer to the bathrooms for that wonderful after bedtime run. The only problem is usually the head leaders get a big tent that we can stand up in - not this year. This section of tents is my team "Cookie Command". I had the largest team 21 kids; 15 girls & 6 boys. The section behind us housed the Clown/Tree Planting team on the left - they had 6 kids on their team & the Nehemiah Trusses team on the right - they had 16 kids.
My tent & home for the next 10 days. It was nice, didn't leak & I'm glad I didn't share it with anyone, not enough room. The kids had the same type of tents, but share two to a tent. Except the girls - since we had an odd number we did have one tent that had 3 girls in it. Just think the teenagers have the same tent, two to a tent & most of the Teen teams going out will live in a tent like this for a total of 2 months.

Peanut Boot Camp has started. Every night we have an evening rally with praise & worship time, games & missionary speaker/speakers. This is the first night of rally. This is Dave & Vanja Cochrane. Dave is from Australia & Vanja is from Brazil. They met at TMI. They are missionaries in Brazil during the winter for TMI & during the summer they come to the states to lead a Teen team to either Brazil or Australia. This year they are going to Australia for the summer.

Every morning after breakfast & devos, the Peanut run a 10 obstacle, obstacle course (OC for short). The obstacles on this course teach team unity & working together. This is the second obstacle Books of the New Testament. The team must put the books of the New Testament in order from Matthew to Revelation in 3 minutes.

Bath Time!!!! Boot camp is to train the teen teams for the mission field they are going to. Some are going into primavtive areas of Africa, South America, Hondrus, Russia to name a few. Peanut camp is a young/easier version of Teen Camp. One thing we all get to do is bucket baths. The teens get their water out of the lakes, peanuts are blessed to get theirs from an underground well.
The peanuts line up & get a buck of water dumped on them. It is cold, but feels good in 90 to 100+ temps.
Then the peanuts start soaping up from head to toe. Then another bucket or two or three (girls with long hair) poured on them again to rinse them off. Yes, the leaders take a bath too. We let the kids dump the water on us. No picture because I didn't need my camera getting wet.
This day was the last day of "Boot Camp" training & also started the first day of our "Project". My team was to make cookies, decorate them bag them with a Bible verse attached & then take them to the local Sheriff & Fire Station to pass out, & present the gospel with a presentation. The ovens we had to use were the ovens the missionaries take to the field - little metal boxes on propane stoves. Since it was too dangerous for the peanuts to get around the ovens, I was blessed to bake the cookies after the kids made them. The building we are in is the training Kitchen, no ac just ceiling fans & screen-in walls. The teen teams were also in the training kitchen learning to make English muffins for their teams, so it was a hot baking day. One more fact - there is two racks in the box oven. About every 5 to 8 min. you have to rotate what you are baking from top to bottom racks or bottom to top so the food will bake evenly.

This was taken around 7:30am. These 3 baby raccoon were looking for food after breakfast. Don't know where mommy was but I was able to get about three feet from them (I was going that direction) before they ran to the trees on the left.

After two days of baking cookies & practicing our presentation, we were able to go off base & pass the cookies out. Our orginal plan was to go t o Patrick AFB but things didn't work out because of security problems. So instead we went to the local Sheriff's department. This is Isaac giving cookies to two of the dispatchers.
Then we went to the local Fire Station, passed out cookies & then present the gospel with several songs

Second to the last day to run the OC. This is one of my little 7 yrs olds. This is called the Slough of Despond from Piligrims Progress. Usully it is full to the top, but someone forgot to turn the water on to fill it up.

Last day of camp. I wanted a picture with my girls & guys. They were a great time & hard workers. Some had attitudes but the Lord work on their hearts & the attitudes disappeared. The kids spent 8 days sleeping in a tent (some leak the second night during a storm), no a/c, cold drinks, jungle/swamp vegetation, 90 to 100 degree temps plus heat index, wearing jeans no shorts allowed & learning that they could still be content & serve the Lord even at their young age.

I got home around 8:00pm tonight & started to unpack. One of my hobbies is scrap booking regular & digital. All this week I have worked on some digital scrapbook pages for my "Peanuts" & making a dvd slide show to mail to them of their trip. This is not required by leaders to do, just something I do for myself & want to share with my team. Plus a lot of these kids didn't take pictures & their supporters (had to raise $260 to go on this trip), family & friends would probably like to see what they did.

The sun setting our on little farm town
Our little town had its 4th celebration tonight. Usually I get out my telephoto zoom lens to take pictures but just wasn't in the mood. This was the first time I went to a fire work show by myself in 22 1/2 years. My husband had to work at his new job, my oldest son is in Russia & my youngest son is at school. Ooooh the life with adult children - don't know if I'm ready for this.
Well, that is my two weeks & a touch of my mission trip. I will probably not post my mission trip blog until I get back from Joplin, MO. My husband & I are going with our church on a tornado relief work team, so I won't post for next week, then catch up when we get back. Have a great 4th of July.
