365 Pictures 13-19 Jan

Hi,
Well, it has been a good & busy week.  I subbed a lot so I didn't think I took that many pictures, but I did, 5 out of 7.  Here is my week.

I had planned to make a bunch of peanut brittle for my boys while they were home, but it didn't happen, So then I was going to make some for Josh to take back to school, since he went back first, again didn't happen (not use to working outside the homes so much). So this afternoon, I made a batch of peanut brittle to send to my son Josh at college.  YEAH!!!  Wood is home for another two weeks, then I will make some for him to take to college with him.  This is really good peanut brittle & easy to make.  I will have the recipe at my blog

YEAH!!!! Mom bought herself new shoes which means we have boxes in the house again.  I think this shoe box was empty maybe 5 min before it was fill with a cat.  Grouchy is very happy right now.

Okay I subbed Kindergarten today & also got to play with another setting on my new camera.  This is the room I was in all day.  My new camera has a setting called "Sparkle".  Notice how the metal on the chairs has little "flairs" or "stars" to them.  The camera added those when I took this picture in "Sparkle Mode"  I tried this mode on some people & the only thing that had a flare was the light in the picture, so I guess it adds "flares" to shiny or lighted things.

no picture again, but here is another one from the deer cam, it is a FOX!!.  We knew we had some foxes on our farm, but they are hard to get a picture of two fast for the camera.  I was happy to see this pic.

Cats - my cats - one of the regular items/people/children in my life.  Cat photo shoot at 10:00pm - mainly because I didn't have a picture for today & didn't like have three days in a row with no pictures.  Then it turned into a photo shoot as my son took a couple more pictures.

This is a peanut butter cake cooked in a BIG coffee mug in the microwave.  I saw this on Facebook from a friend & decided to try it out.  It took 1 1/2 min. to cook.  The recipe is here

Another week has gone by.  I didn't get a picture everyday but did better than I have in the past couple of weeks.  It has been a busy week, with meetings, getting shots for my trip & subbing.

Our cats love to play & sleep in boxes.  We had a lot of them during Christmas but now they are all gone.  Fuzzy was so desperate to find a box to lay in, so had to settle for this 1/4 of a box, she found on the piano.

On my way to sub for Preschool & Special Ed.  I saw the sun come up in my rear view mirror & it was gorgeous.  By the time I got to a place to stop, it wasn't as pretty as when it first came up, but still wanted to get a picture.

A beautiful sunset, but also a very windy evening.  I'm using my new camera which is a small one & the wind kept blowing my hands as I tried to take some pictures.  This was the best one out of the batch.

Okay, I spent the day shopping with my niece in St. Joseph for her 17th birthday.  She won't be 17 until Feb. but I will be out of the country, so we celebrated it a month early.  So deer cam rescued me again or maybe it should be call turkey cam today.

Well, that is my week.  Can't wait to see the rest of the post.  Have a blessed week coming up.

365 Pictures catch & starting New Year.

Hi to all,
I'm back.  I have not posted since 10 Nov.  Things became very busy around here.  Honestly I was not planning on being back until February.  Yesterday I was suppose to go to Madagascar on a mission trip for 3 weeks but the Lord had other plans.  This past Monday my trip was canceled but doors open for me to go to Cameroon with the same group in February.  So I plan to post weekly until I leave, then play catch when I get back.

I've been debating on whether I should catch up or not & decided, yes, I'm going to post what I can so here it goes. . . .

I spent the evening working at a fund raiser for a 7th grade girl in our church.  She has cancer.  This is just half the bake made by people in our community, donations from churches & school staff.  We ended up raising around $4,000 plus a matching donation which put us up to around $6,000 to help Emily & her mom.

Thanksgiving mid morning.  My oldest son & Motor taking an early nap before all the guest arrive for Thanksgiving feast.  Motor is soooo glad the boys are home from college.

I'm the director of our church's Women on Mission group.  This morning was our Christmas Tea for the ladies of the church.  We had a great turn out & a wonderful time.

Today our Women on Mission group hosted a "Senior Christmas Brunch" for the seniors of our church.  Another great turn out, wonderful food & fellowship.

Our wedding anniversary is 23 Dec.  Since things get a little crazy at that time, some years we have to celebrate a little early, this was one of those years.  These are the two Precious Moments figurines my husband gave me for our 24th anniversary.

Some Day my Prince Will Come is the title of this one.  It is a music box & plays the song, from this scene from the Disney Snow White movie.

I bought a new digital camera to go on my mission trip, one that is dust & waterproof.  Playing with it I discovered several different options on taking pictures.  One is a cat setting.  When set on the setting, if the camera's sensor detects a cat face it automatically takes a picture, you don't have to push an button.  So I tried it out & here is the result.  I thought this would be a cute picture.  I set these items on the couch for me to take out the door with my & Fuzzy thought she had to help & hold them in place.

Our first snow storm of winter.  The old farmer's saying around here is that since the first tracking snow came on the 20th, we will have 20 tracking (means you can make tracks in it) snow storms this winter.  I curious to see if this comes true.

Yeah!!!!  4 days in a row of taking pictures, getting back into the groove.

These are "Melting Snowman Cookies" I made for the "Marshall Family Christmas"  I will post the recipe later this week at my recipe blog

Whenever we have "Marshall Family Christmas" at my sister-in-law, Jeaneen's, home we take a "Marshall Family" picture which happens every 5 years.  The reason we have to wait so long is one, my brother-in-law & two of his sons hate their picture being taken & two - Jeaneen has the biggest house with the biggest room to hold all of us.

We celebrated Christmas on the 21st, so today was a relaxing day at home.

Since the boys are home from college I'm cooking A LOT more.  Saw this recipe & wanted to try it.  It was very easy & I will be sharing it at my recipe blog.  By the way - the boys inhaled these.

My son Josh took this picture & cooked this meal.  I had to substitute teach & then my husband & I had Awana that night.  Josh cooked up Lemon Pepper Chicken with Lemon Pepper Noodles.  He took plain egg noodles & cooked them, then he added some seasonings along with lemon juice (because I didn't have any lemon pepper ran out) & mixed them in with the noodles.  It was wonderful!!!  Unfortunately, Josh doesn't remember all the seasonings he used.

WOW!!!  I can't believe it has been 6 weeks since I last posted.  Life got busy around here.  I started working as a substitute teacher & doing a little more photography on the side, so I had to re-manage my time.  So here goes my catch-up:

I decided to experiment with some cooking.  I took a flour tortilla, brushed melted butter on it, sprinkled cinnamon sugar on it, cut into small triangles (like cutting a pizza) & then baked the triangles on a cookie  sheet & bake for 10 min. at 350.  Ended up with crispy cinnamon treats (as I call them).

I ended up using two tortillas & some of the slices wouldn't fit on the cookie sheet, so when I baked these I drizzled some honey on them. 

 I like these better than the ones above but my husband didn't.  He liked just the cinnamon sugared ones.

Of course had to make sure I had a cat picture; Grouchy & her mice.  Yes she is partly sleeping but not relaxing, waiting for her sister or brother cats to try & steal her mice.  She has a sharing problem :-)

Deer cam again - this is a little fuzzy, but it is a coyote running by the feeder.  We were told it is almost impossible to get a coyote picture because they run so fast, usually a big blur of fur.

Found this recipe where you take crescent rolls, spread soften cream cheese on them & the add cooked bacon, chopped tomatoes & red or green bell peppers.  The peppers are missing because my hubby is not to found of them, so just bacon & tomato here.  Then you roll them up going from wide to narrow & bake according to the crescent roll directions.

Here are two of them done.  I was a nice light meal & we enjoyed them very much

Okay another simple recipe I found - you take two mini vanilla wafers; spread peanut butter between them to make a sandwich cookie & then dip the bottom have in melted chocolate.  Put in fridge to harden.  We loved them & I made a batch for Thanksgiving & put them in the freezer.

Today I took pictures at my third wedding, so guess what will be on my blog next week.  When I came home this little frog was waiting to come in the front door.  I think he knows bad weather is coming & wants to be in a nice warm place.

YEAH!!!!  I'm caught up & hope I never miss that many weeks again.  I will warn you come January I will be going to Madagascar on a mission trip for 2 1/2 weeks, so will have to play catch up then, but hope not to get 6 weeks behind.  I have missed not seeing your pics, & hope to visit everyone & get caught up this week.
