365 Pictures 9-22 October

Hello,
Well I was gone last weekend to Texas & had a wonderful time seeing family I hadn't seen in 6 years.  This week was getting caught on things from being gone.  Hoping for some normal weeks to come.  Here are my two weeks:

Sunday 9 October
I didn't get a picture taken today, to busy getting ready for my trip so wanted to share this one from the deer came.  Two beautiful bucks at our corn feeder

Monday 10 October
Again no picture taken but this is my other favorite picture from the deer cam this week.  By the way this is the mother deer & her two twins I have shown earlier in this blog.  The twins are all grown up.  I like the symmetry - 3 deer & 3 turkeys

Tuesday 11 October

Oldest son is home for fall break.  He saw a squirrel in the front yard early this morning & had to grab his cat so she could watch it.  She was very focused, tail swishing back & forth & if she could have, she would have jump through the window to get the squirrel.

Wednesday 12 October
Tuesday night I took pictures of the family. I worked on them this afternoon & this is my favorite so far.

Thursday 13 October
I got up at 6:30am & on the road by 7:15am on a 9 hour drive to Texas, by myself.  I had not seen my two uncles on my dad's side of the family in 6 years & needed to visit.  My husband couldn't get off work, so road trip for me.  This is the sun coming up on the interstate as I head south.  It was a beautiful morning & easy drive down.

Friday 14 October
This is my Uncle Danny & Aunt Libby Edgmon.  I stayed with them from Thursday night until Sunday morning.  My Aunt was the perfect hosted & even spoiled me a little with home made fudge candy.  She only make that for Thanksgiving, Christmas & special occasions.  I guest I was a special occasion.

Saturday 15 October
Chase & Cindy

Kim, Cassidy & Coulson
I spent the whole morning & afternoon with my cousin Cindy & her precious babies, my 1st cousins 1x removed.  Cassidy & Coulson are twins who will be 2yrs old in November. & Chase is 3 months old.  It was a lot of fun helping take care of them & playing with them.  In the evening my cousin Cindy took me to Sundance Square in downtown Fort Worth for supper just us two girls for a girls night out.

Sunday 16 October
Sunday morning I went to church with my Uncle Jimmy & Aunt Connie Edgmon & spent the afternoon visiting with them.  These are Cindy's parents.

Monday 17 October
I spent Sunday evening/night with my cousin Michaela.  We had to get up early for her to go to work & for me to drive back home.  There was no one home to take our picture, so Michaela held the camera & snapped this one.  It was a wonderful 5 days in Fort Worth & hope to make the trip again but sooner than another 6 years.

Tuesday- Friday 18 - 21 October
I didn't take any pictures these days.  I was too busy unpacking from my trip, laundry, housework & catching up on being gone.

Saturday 22 October
Another beautiful morning here in Missouri.  I took this picture in the driveway of my brother-in-law's place.  I was picking up two of my nieces to go shopping with in the Amish community in Jamesport.

This was the DEAL of the day.  These were beautiful mums were suppose to be $8.50 each.  My nieces took a picture & sent it to their brother because he wanted some nice flowers to line his sidewalk to his house.  Elisha told us to get 6 of them!!  I wanted two of them.  The Amish gentleman selling them said if you buy 10 plants I will mark them down to $8.00.  My nieces each bought one.  It was fun getting the 10 plants in my Jeep along with the groceries we had already bought but we managed to fit 8 in & each niece held one in her lap for the last two.

That is my past two weeks.  Hope everyone had a great week.  Looking forward to the up coming week.
God Bless!!!

365 Pictures 11 September - 8 October

Hi,
I'm back.!!!  I think it has been close to three weeks since I was able to post.  It seems the last couple of weekends I have been gone & once I had time the week was half way through.  It has been a great time but didn't get a picture taken everyday.  Here is what I have to show for my time spent.  Looking forward to see what I have missed with the rest of the groups pictures.  Have a great week!!!.

Sunday 11 September 2011
Sunday after church I went on my 2nd mission trip to Joplin, Missouri with my church to help with more clean up.  There was about 18 to 20 people in our group.  Sunday evening we drove around to show damage for team members for time & to see what had been done in restoration for returning team members.
This is the high school.  It was a blessing that the graduation ceremony was being held at a nearby college; if not this is where the graduation ceremony would have been.

These eagles were carved out of damaged trees from the tornado.  The other neat thing is this sign use to say Joplin High School, now with the help of duck tape is says HopE High school.  The high school is being built in a new location.

 Monday 12 September 2011
My group of four ladies spent the morning fixing up the inside of a house.  I learned how to mud sheet rock.  We were located in the middle of the destruction zone & what was really freaky was all 4 tornado sirens went off while we were working.  Just a test but it made us quickly drop what we were doing & look outside.

We stayed at the First Christian Church in Carthage.  Monday evening we went for a walk around town.  This is the courthouse in Carthage, Missouri.

  Tuesday 13 September 2011
The next day we work on helping restore the inside & outside of a house.  Here I'm racking up debris, glass, parts of trees, Christmas ornaments, etc.  We also did weeding on the outside & put up sheet rock inside the entire downstairs of the house in the picture below.

Our mission team after two hard days of work.  Hope to be going back in March for some more clean up.

 Friday 16 September 2011
This is my sweet niece Charleigh Danielle Ford.  Today was here 2nd birthday. This picture was taken yesterday but wanted to posted it on her birthday.

Saturday 17 September 2011
This is my nephew Jared, his wife Sarah & their daughter Charleigh.  They had a big family/friend birthday party tonight to celebrate her 2nd birthday.  Also Charleigh will be getting a brother or sister in February 2012.

Monday 19 September 2011
One from the deer cam.  This buck was so nice to give us a profile shot.  Because the oak trees are dropping acorns - the deer are coming less & less to the corn feeder.

Wednesday 21 September 2011
Getting a nap in before going to Awana tonight.  Hubby took this one of me & Grouchy being cuddle buddies.  Once in awhile she will sleep between our pillows, but very rare will she get up close, she must have been cold.

Thursday 22 September 2011
I took school pictures for the New Hampton Christian School, where I use to work.  This is a very small school 20 students between grade 3rd - 12th, that is on its 6th year of operation.  Here is one of the collages I worked on today for one of the families to order.

Saturday 24 & Sunday 25 September 2011
My two sons & I took a road trip to Arkansas for the 14th annual Edgmon Family reunion.  My husband had to work so he couldn't go with us.  My 3rd great grandfather  William T. Edgmon was born & raised in Tennessee.  At the time of the Civil War he had 12 children ages 20 to about 6 months old.  He & his oldest son James fought & were captured.  William died & James survived.  James came home, packed up his mother & siblings & moved them the Ozark Mountains to a little place call Mossville.  James & half of his siblings stayed in the mountains & still have family there.  The other half of James siblings moved to Oklahoma & Texas, one of them being my 2nd great grand father Daniel Sellers Edgmon.  I'm the first of Dainel's decedents to make it back to the family homestead for the reunion.  It was a lot of fun & we look forward to going next year.

This is the family church built in 1925 in Mossville, Arkansas.  It was built at a circuit rider church & is still a circuit rider church today.  The pastor comes on the 1st & 3rd Sunday of the month.  Behind the church is the Edgmon family cemetery & my 2nd great grand Uncle James B Edgmon is buried there.

Wild Elk herd in the valley below the family church.  These are all cows (females).  The bull (male ) was close by.  It is mating season, so he was rounding up his herd.

About a mile down the road the cow elk was by herself eating

My son could have stuck his arm out the front passenger window & touched her.

Monday 26 September 2011
This morning our Women on Mission group folder 100 boxes for Samaritan Purse's shoebox collection. Our family fill 4 of these shoe boxes every year.  We had a blast taking our boys shopping for the items.  Last year was my first year not having my boys home to shop with me so I borrowed two kids from a friend at church.  Can't wait to fill the boxes this year.  It is a lot of fun.  If you wonder what I'm talking about message me & I will explain.

Thursday 29 September 2011
It is harvest time.  This is our soy bean field about 1/4 harvested.  When my husband had mornings off, he would go help his dad harvest the crops.  Our beans were done by Saturday.

Our combine with the bean head on it.

Saturday 1 Oct 2011
One more deer shot, another buck

Sunday 2 Oct 2011
This picture was taken 38 years ago when my little sister Jennifer Louise came into our family.  I was 5 1/2 years old.  Happy Birthday Jenny

Wednesday 5 Oct 2011
I use to draw when I was 9 & 10yr olds.  If I have something to look at & it is not a person, I can usually draw it.  I'm have found some time to draw at my morning tutor job, basically while the 4th grader does his work & doesn't need my help.  So I drew this turtle from a nature magazine with a "You Can Draw" section this week & finished it today.  First time I have drawn in 33 years.

Thursday 6 Oct 2011
This was taken a week ago but today is my niece Esther Ruth's 20th b-day.  Tomorrow we are going shopping in the city.

Friday 7 Oct 2011
I was able to draw another picture.  The turtle is being mailed to a little boy we sponsor in India.  This one will be going to a little girl we sponsor in Cambodia.  I'm really enjoying my drawing time

Saturday 8 Oct 2011
Today my husband & I went to the 90th birthday party of his Grand Aunt Kathryn Urton on his mother's side of the family.  She is sitting on the right.  This is a picture of her with her six children.  It was a nice party with a lot of family in attendance.

Well, that is my three weeks.  I'm going to Texas this up coming weekend to see family, so I hope to be able to post on Tuesday when I get back if not see ya in two weeks.

365 Pictures 4-10 September

Another great week.  The weather was very cool, a little early for fall but loved it.  Stayed home most of the week.  The bucks have shed their velvet and we only got one day of pics on the deer cam.  Here is my week.

Sunday 4 September
Coming home from church.  Another beautiful sunset in the country

Monday 5 September
My husband made the bed this morning.  I have some stuff animals on my bed that have special meaning for me, 6 of them to be exact.  My husband took two of them & put them together hugging each other, his way of reminding me every time I walk in the bedroom that he is giving me a hug when he is not around.

Also found this little pillow I made for my husband when he flew for the Air Guard/Air Force.  This is on our bed too.

 Tuesday 6 September
This is me practicing shooting with my bow.  In another week it will be bow deer season.  Yes, we hunt & we only shoot what we eat.  Also the deer corn feeder & salt block on our farm are not near our hunting area on the farm, so no one worries.  Deer is our main source of meat, we process it our selves, so 98% lean & healthy for us, also helps cut down on the food bill, & helps thin the herd since there are so many in our area & may cut down on the car accidents involving deer.

My grouping.  Not bad since I haven't shot my bow for year.

Wednesday 7 September
Awana started tonight.  I'm the Sparks (K-2nd) director.  We had 39 Sparks & 99 kids total for attendance.  This is our largest first night attendance since this church started Awana 8 years ago.  It is going to be a fun year.

Thursday 8 September
If you look closely you will see what looks like something hanging from the buck's antlers.  It is what is left of  the velvet on his antlers.  The bucks have shed their velvet this week, which means buck will start fighting to see who is the boss.  We only had two pictures of this buck & his hanging velvet.  This was the better one.

The next day, maybe the same buck.  All his velvet is gone & he has a new, strong, beautiful rack

Friday 9 September
YEAH!!!! Both my boys are home for the weekend - a complete family.  When they come home they drop their stuff behind my couch, that is what is picture is.  Wood is home because he forgot to take his winter coats with him to school.  Good thing he is 1 1/2 hours away.  Josh came home because he had to collect 50 species of weeds for one of his agriculture classes.  He & his dad will be collecting them tomorrow morning.  Josh's college is 5 hours away.

Saturday 10 September
I'm packing today.  I will be going back to Joplin, MO on my 2nd mission trip to help with more clean up.  We have a group of 15 going from my church & other churches in the area.  We will leave Sunday afternoon & get back Wednesday afternoon/evening.

Both my boys doing college homework.  Reminds me of our days of home schooling except they would be in our school room working instead of the dining room table.  Josh on the right (no shirt) is working on Western Civ. & Wood (no hair) on the left is learning Hebrew.  From the reactions - Josh is enjoying Western Civ. more than Wood is enjoying Hebrew.

Well, that is my week.  Hope all of you had a great week.  God Bless.

365 Pictures 28 August - 3 September

Okay, another week gone & a new month started.  Boy, time is flying by way too fast.  Here is my week.

Sunday 28 August
I didn't take a picture today because I lost the day, not sure where it went but still looking for it.

Monday 29 August
A bunny came to visit our bird feeders this morning.  Haven't seen a bunny in the backyard all summer

A very rare picture.  All three cats sleeping next to each other & not fighting.  They get along but they don't sleep well together.  Motor (grey & white) will usually sleep with Fuzzy (far right) but not with Grouchy (center) - Motor & Grouchy have a sharing problem.

Tuesday 30 August
Lost another day, I think it is hiding with Sunday

Wednesday 31 August
North West Missouri State Fair started tonight.  2nd year for the parade & our church entered an Awana float.  The parade ended at the fair where we had a booth for kids to register for Awana which starts next Wednesday.  I'm in the red shirt.

Thursday 1 September
Deer Cam - A doe eating with the coons.  I picked this one because I like the coons coming down the tree to get breakfast.

Friday 2 September
Today my hubby & I played a board game - Yahtzee.  Something we haven't done if a very long time.  It was fun.  He won.

Saturday 3 September
Didn't take a picture today busy working on a mission trip slide show on the computer.  So I picked this pic from the deer cam file taken yesterday.  The bucks' antlers are started to get hard & they are starting to feel a little ornery toward each other.  Now the antlers are getting harder, we might get some pictures of the velvet shedding & some "Buck" fights around the feeder the next couple of weeks.

Well that is my week.  It went by quickly.  Hope all of you had a great week.
