Project 365 15-21 May 2011

Hi,
I think the weather thinks we are back in March or April.  On the cool & rainy side but still a good week.  So what did this week bring????

Sunday 15 May, 2010
YEAH, the Baltimore Orioles are back!!!!  Reminds me of home in Annapolis, Maryland.  Love to hear these sweet birds sing.  This poor fellow is drench from the rainy day we had.

Also the humming birds are back too.  You can see a drop of rain on the wing of this one.  Now to get a picture of a male.

My mouse & I'm not sharing, all mine

Aaaaaaaaaaaa it's getting away!!!!

Tuesday 17 May, 2010
School Award night.  This was a bitter sweet time for me, as I have taught at New Hampton Christian School for 2 1/2 years.  I left in December of this for head surgery & I'm not going back to teach.  I will still take school pictures & put together the yearbook & digital yearbook, but God is leading to some other places to serve Him in.  So tonight was a night of saying "I'll see ya later" instead of good bye.  God blessed me with two sons, but brought into my life "adoptive" daughters.  These are my girls....
Asiah Bennet, she will always be part of our family.  We have grown really close this year & I was blessed to lead her to the Lord this fall.

These are three sisters who I have taught the past 2 1/2 years.  The oldest one Donna will never smile for a pictures or hardly ever, just works, works, works, & has a huge wall around her heart.  Lexi in the middle & Asia to the right.  All three a very smart & will go far.

Joshlyn, always has a smile & let you know exactly how she feels about everything good & bad.  She was also in my elementary class.

Kendall, very sweet lovable girl, never taught her, but we had long talks when school became to much.  She called me "Mom" & still does.

The moon was soooo beautiful tonight I just had to get a picture.

Wednesday 18 May, 2010
Muffin Day!  I made 2 1/2 dozen Apple Dapple Muffins for my hubby's breakfast this week.  Of course both of the boys are home too, so they ate these for snack during the day.  Recipe is at my good eating link

Boys went exploring on our farm.  Found this 8 point buck skull in the timber & an arrow my son Josh (on right 18 yrs) lost when he was 15 yrs old hunting for a deer.  The arrow head was damaged, but the rest of the arrow was still good to reuse.

Thursday 19 May, 2010
Deer Cam to the rescue - I didn't get a picture taken today.

Friday 20 May, 2010
Okay, I didn't take a picture today, but here is one of Bucky from Thursday.  I now have posted him three weeks in a row & you can see how his rack in growing.  He's a 4 point right now.  See ya next week.

Saturday 21 May, 2010
I spent the afternoon, taking pictures of a family from church.  They are a wonderful family with 4 children.  They decided God wanted them to be foster parents who would adopt.  The were given two little girls in December, who they were suppose to adopt in a year.  Unfortunately things have change & the state has decided to move the girls into a different foster home with two of their siblings & all 4 will adopted together.  So today I took pictures of the girls & family, so the girls could have a picture to remember their foster family by.  This is Raven one of the girls.  I'm still playing with the other pictures.  Pray for Raven & her siblings because they need Jesus in their life.

Well, that is the end of my week.  Hope all of you have a wonderful week.  Can't wait to see your pics

365 Pictures 8-14 May 2011

Hi,
Well another week done and we get closer to summer.  What a great week for me to take pictures.  We had some weird weather this week.  Temperatures ranged from 60's to 90's sometimes in the same day.  Perfect tornado weather

Sunday 8 May 2011
It has started to get a little warm around here, which means the boys attic bedroom is getting hot.  A couple of weeks ago we ran the ac up there & it was fine.  But late Saturday afternoon we turn on the ac because the attic bedroom was getting hot & the compression quit working.  By 10:00pm it was cool enough to suck in cool outside air for my oldest to sleep with a fan blowing but not the younger boy, so he camp out in the living room.  This morning when he got up to take a shower, Motor quickly claimed the air mattress as his new bed.

Monday 9 May 2011
Okay, I didn't get a picture taken on today & neither did the two deer cams, but had to share these pictures anyways.  The first one if from the 10th, I had this little buck last week.  Notice his buttons have gotten bigger & are starting to spilt, so right now we know this buck will be a 4 pointer.  We are also feeding coons at the corn feeder

The 12th, a daytime picture of "Bucky" (what I named him).  You can really see his antlers well in this pictures.  Can't wait to see what he will look like next week.

Tuesday 10 May 2011
We spent the afternoon on the road going to my therapy in Bethany, then on to St. Joseph for shopping & a late Mother's Day, early Birthday supper with my mom.  On the way home I relized I didn't have a picture for the day so I ask my son Josh (18yrs) to please take a picture while I was driving if he sees anything interesting.  These are the highlights of the 50 some pictures he took
His feet kicked up & relaxing looking for something to take

My favorite in the bunch, the sun setting in the driver's side mirror.  Josh can be very creative.

Of course Josh taking a picture of himself in the passenger's side mirror

Wednesday 11 May 2011
Okay, yesterday it was hot, humid & 93 degrees.  This morning it was 68 & we had three storms between 5:45am & 8:30am.  The third storm brought hail for about 5 min. as you can see in this picture.

When the storm was over my son Josh went out & picked up a piece of hail to see how large the hail was.  Quarter size, not good since some of the farmers in the area are starting to have corn come through.

My oldest son Wood bought a new travel camera to take on his mission trip to Russia, Mongolia & China.  He was testing it out this morning & Motor decided he wanted a photo shoot and we didn't prompt him, he did these poses all on his own.  This is his "Angry Face"

This is his "I'm soooo cute" pose.  HAM!!!!

Thursday 12 May 2011
This is my good friend Elshana.  She had to have surgery on her foot about two weeks ago & is still not allowe to be on it.  So I had the wonderful blessing of fixing her family a meal & getting to visit with her for 2 hours today.  Plan to do that next week.

This is Elshana's foot, she was able to upgrade from a plaster cast to a moon boot.  YEAH!!!  But not allowed to put any weight on it until the begining of June

Friday 13 May 2011
Women of Faith Conference!!!!!!!!!!!!  I went to the WOF Conference in Des Moines with my "adoptive" mom.  It was wonderful, awesome, emotional, & a great blessing

Mary Mary in concert.

The WOF ladies on the "porch" getting down with Mary Mary.  Lucy Swindoll is my favorite speaker & it was fun watching her dance & praise the Lord with all the ladies at a young age of 78
.
The view from my hotel room.  We were on the 18th floor.  Down town Des Moines lit up at night.

Saturday 14 May 2011
My "adoptive" mom Marsha Bristley, who I spent the weekend with at the WOF conference.  She didn't legally adopt me, but was friends with my mom during my high school years.  When my mom stopped being a mom, she filled in even though she was a single mom raising three kids & had some storms she was going through at the same time I was going through mine.  The day after I graduate from high school, I was being left on my own at 18 & would have been living on the streets.  But Marsha found out what was happening & arranged for me to live with her sister as a live in nanny.  She is a super big blessing to my.  Love ya.

That is the end of my week.  Hope you had a great one & a wonderful one yet to come.  God Bless.

365 Pictures 1-7 Mayl 2011

Hey,
Okay, I have lost a week....where did this one go?????????  I don't even know if I took some pictures except for yesterday & this morning, but will go look & see what I can share.

Sunday 1 May
We came home Sunday night from church to see this little bunny mowing our lawn for us.  He let me get within 6 feet to get this shot before running away.

Monday 2 May
This is how you pack up a day.  Two lap tops, my camera, change of clothes for therapy, cross stitch if I have time to work on & nothing to do & a packed lunch.  Our church started revival last night until Wednesday.  Because we live about 25 miles from Bethany (where we do everything) and we had the following today in Bethany, 9:30am I had Women on Mission meeting at church which got done at 11:00am, then my son Wood (who was with me) & I surprised my husband by having lunch with him at his work; next I had physical therapy at 1:00pm & my son    Wood had chiropractor appointment at 1:15pm, dropped my son off at church to hang & do homework while I went & visited a friend who just had surgery then finally met my husband at Subway for supper & on to church for revival.

Tuesday 3 May
Middle part of the sectional becomes a catch all when we are gone every night & day.  I threw my hoodie here to put some other things away then came back to hang it up in about 5 min. or less & this is what I found  Motor loves sleeping on my hoodie when ever I leave it laying around which I try not to do because it gets coated in white cat fur & my hoodie is black.

Wednesday 4 May
About 9:00pm Stephen looked out the front window of our kitchen & saw the county ambulance coming down Main St. (we live on the corner of Main & Thompson).  He watched it go by our house & turn down the street behind us.  As he went to look out our picture window to see where the ambulance went he yelled, the house north west behind us is on fire.  Of course we went out to see what was going on & this is what we saw....
This is one of the very old houses in Gilman City & basically a tinderbox.  We didn't know anyone lived there but found out a lady had been living there off & on & just had electricity hooked up, nothing else.  How the fire started, no one knows but the lady didn't call the fire department or 911, instead she call the ambulance & told them she had been burned (first degree, not bad) & needed help.  The fire department is volunteer & caddy corner to our house.  We beat the fire department to the fire.

Our volunteers finally got the call & worked hard to contain the fire.  There were more abandon houses to the east that would go up instantly if they started & the wind was blowing the fire to the west toward a house where a family lived.  They got it under control, no one was hurt & no other homes lost.

Thursday 5 May
No picture for today

Friday 6 May
Yeah for deer cam or it would have been two days without pictures.  If you look closely you can see the rack on the buck started to form in velvet.  He visited our feeder several times this week so it will be fun to watch his rack develop.

Saturday 7 May
My youngest son Josh goes to College of the Ozarks.  He finished his final this week & was able to come home today until Wednesday.  He has to go back to school to move from the dorm room he is in on the 2nd floor to the one he will be in for the summer on the 3rd floor.  He surprised me when he came home with this beautiful bouquet of yellow roses he stopped to buy on his way home.

That is all for my week.  I guess I got more pictures than I thought.  Hope all of you had a great week.  Can't wait to see your pictures.

365 Pictures 24-30 April 2011

Hi Everyone!!!  Hope you had a wonderful week & and blessed Easter.  I believe in Jesus Christ as my personal  Saviour, and that He died on the cross a perfect sinless sacrifice for me and conquer the grave rising 3 days later so I could be in heaven with Him.  That is what Easter means to me.  Now onto my pictures for this past week.

Sunday 24 April, 2011
I hosted the Marshall Family (my in-laws) Easter at my home.  21 family members (2 were missing) & 2 guest made for a wonderful, fun filled Easter.  The last time I had Easter at my home was 7 years ago.  So I have a couple of pictures to share for today.....
My grand niece Charleigh smelling my tulip for the 2nd time & licking the inside (we didn't know until later)

Charleigh's face afterward with pollen on her nose & lips.

The Marshall grand daughters or my nieces - Ali, Casie (niece in-law), Anna, Tricia, Esther holding my grand niece Charleigh, Sarah (niece in-law & Charleigh's mom, & Echo.  All these girls except Ali & Charliegh are sisters/sister-in-laws.  My husband's older brother has 9 kids, 4 girls & 5 boys plus now 2 daughter-in-laws.

Marshall Grandsons - first time we have had all 7 of them together since Christmas 2007.  Wood (my son), Jesse, Elisha, Joel, Josh (my son), Jared & Enoch in front.  From my comment above, these are all brothers except my two.

Monday 25 April, 2011
My day was filled getting ready for Awana award night at church this Wednesday.  I'm the Spark Director, so my job to get the awards organize.  This year we gave out 16 certificates, 18 1st book ribbons (green one), 6 2nd book ribbons (blue one), & 3 3rd book plaques.

Tuesday 26 April, 2011

Wednesday 27 April, 2011
The sun finally came out this week & Grouchy was soaking up all she could in my picture window behind my desk.

When I tried to get a better picture, Grouchy realized I was taking her picture, quickly rolled over & growled at me, giving me a dirty look.  She didn't want her picture taken at that moment.

Thursday 28 April, 2011
Ear Candling Time.  My son Wood, my husband & I did this tonight.  This is my son who is getting his ears cleaned out by "Ear Candling" a natural way to get all the stuff out of your ears, that causes ear aches, blocked hearing, etc.  The candle is made out of bees wax  & yes, you stick the bottom part in your ear then light the top part.  The candle will slowly burn down & draws out wax & gunk of your ear in the bottom part of the candle. You blow it out when about 3 inches  of the candle is left.  We bought these candles from our Chiropractor.  And what is the result......

This is what was drawn out of my husband's ear.  He said later his ear felt clearer on the inside, not full.

Friday 29 April, 2011
Today was muffin day.  My husband likes to take muffins to work for his breakfast.  He leaves at 6:30am & that is too early for him to eat, so he eats breakfast at 9:30 during his morning break & muffins are the easiest to eat.  These are Brown Sugar-Oatmeal Muffins.  This batch has chocolate chips in them.  The next batch was pecans.  The next was cherry flavored crasins & pecans.  I think I ended up making 6 to 8 dozens muffins.  The recipe for these muffins will be on my blog page "Good Cooking", just click on the link on the right side of my home page.

Saturday 30 April, 2011
My oldest son went down to Branson, Missouri to see his brother at college (College of the Ozarks) & go turkey hunting.  They didn't see any turkeys, but they spent the afternoon at the fish hatchery checking out the dam.  As you can see all ten gates are open & have been since Tuesday because they received 17 inches of rain the weekend before, plus more this past week, & the lake was about to go over the dam.  Our son Josh is 5 miles from this dam at college.  His college is on a high bluff so they are safe.  2 miles down from this dam is where my father-in-law has a time share (since my husband was 3yrs old) & they are fine so far, but the houses across the shore from the time share place are half under water.  My heart goes out to those people.

Well, that is my week & I got my pictures done on time.  Hope all of you had a great week.  Look forward to seeing your pictures.
