365 Pictures 5-11 June, 2011

Hello,
Another week has gone by & soon another one will begin.  This week was busy with VBS at church.  It was a lot of fun but made me tired.  The next two weeks I will not be able to post pictures as I will be gone on a mission trip.  I will be going to Teen Missions International in Merritt Island, Florida to lead a team of 22 7-9yrs old as they learn to be a missionary.  This age group are called Peanuts.  My team is called the cookie command team.  We will be baking cookies, bagging them & putting Bible verses in with the cookies.  Then my kids will go an Air Force Base, present the gospel in songs, drama, & puppets to personnel serving there.  They will pass out the cookies, visit with the people & will tell them about the plan of salvation using wordless books and/or bracelets.  When I return, I will have plenty of pictures to share.  Now for this week....

Our theme was Big Apple Adventure - New York City.  My room was Grand Central Terminal and I taught about missions.  This is a turn style my husband made for my room.

Each day the kids were given tokens to drop in the bucket so they could get into Missions.  3rd grade class coming in.

Thursday 9 June 2011
We had a huge rain storm come in & dump 3 1/2 inches of rain in two hours.  This is the rain running off our porch.

Friday 10 June 2011
Had to post one deer cam pic.  Another nice buck & raccoon enjoying supper together.  This may be Bucky but not sure.  He does have a nice rack forming though

Saturday 11 June 2011
Today I made my dish bag for my mission trip & a matching pillow case for my travel pillow.  In the past I have used my son's dish bag, but he had to take that one to Russia with him.  Between my two boys mission trips, that dish bag has been to Zambia, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Mozambique - Africa; Switzerland, England, Ireland, Wales, Samoa & Australia.  Now it is head to Russia, Mongolia & China.  Lucky bag.

Well, that is all I have for this week.  I will talk to you in two weeks, will miss seeing the weekly post but I'm really getting excited about my mission trip.  This is my 3rd year leading peanut teams & my largest team.  My first team had 7 kids, my second had 11.  This year I have 22!!!  Have a great two weeks. I know I will.
God Bless!!!!

Dead cat in the living room - really Motor came into the dining room, gave us a talking to, then went to the living room & played dead.  When we turned on the AC, he was magically revived & got up to do something else.  I guess he thought the house was getting to hot & he was going to die of heat exhaustion.

Baby squirrel digging for nuts in our backyard.

Finally found one but a car drove by & scared it up our tree.

Saturday 4 June, 2011
No picture today.  I was busy finishing up packing my 20yr son for his mission trip to Russia, near Siberia.  He leaves tomorrow & will be home 30 July.  He will spend two weeks in the swamps of Merritt Island, Florida at the Lord's Boot Camp with Teen Missions Inter. for leadership training & then team training.  Wood is the assistant leader of a teen team.  His team has 21 teenagers ages 13-17.  The team finishes trainging in Florida on 25 June & then head to Russia until 20 July.  On the way home they will get to travel by train through Russia, Mongolia & ended up in Beijing, China to fly back to the states.  My son has gone with this group before as a teen member to Zambia, Africa when he was 14 & Wales when he was 16.

Well, that is my week.  Hope all of you had a great week.  Look forward to seeing your pics.

Project 365 15-21 May 2011

Hi,
I think the weather thinks we are back in March or April.  On the cool & rainy side but still a good week.  So what did this week bring????

Sunday 15 May, 2010
YEAH, the Baltimore Orioles are back!!!!  Reminds me of home in Annapolis, Maryland.  Love to hear these sweet birds sing.  This poor fellow is drench from the rainy day we had.

Also the humming birds are back too.  You can see a drop of rain on the wing of this one.  Now to get a picture of a male.

Monday 16 May, 2010
Grouchy - Just Great, she has that black flashy thing out again....wonder how that thing would taste???

My mouse & I'm not sharing, all mine

Aaaaaaaaaaaa it's getting away!!!!

Tuesday 17 May, 2010
School Award night.  This was a bitter sweet time for me, as I have taught at New Hampton Christian School for 2 1/2 years.  I left in December of this for head surgery & I'm not going back to teach.  I will still take school pictures & put together the yearbook & digital yearbook, but God is leading to some other places to serve Him in.  So tonight was a night of saying "I'll see ya later" instead of good bye.  God blessed me with two sons, but brought into my life "adoptive" daughters.  These are my girls....
Asiah Bennet, she will always be part of our family.  We have grown really close this year & I was blessed to lead her to the Lord this fall.

These are three sisters who I have taught the past 2 1/2 years.  The oldest one Donna will never smile for a pictures or hardly ever, just works, works, works, & has a huge wall around her heart.  Lexi in the middle & Asia to the right.  All three a very smart & will go far.

Joshlyn, always has a smile & let you know exactly how she feels about everything good & bad.  She was also in my elementary class.

Kendall, very sweet lovable girl, never taught her, but we had long talks when school became to much.  She called me "Mom" & still does.

The moon was soooo beautiful tonight I just had to get a picture.

Wednesday 18 May, 2010
Muffin Day!  I made 2 1/2 dozen Apple Dapple Muffins for my hubby's breakfast this week.  Of course both of the boys are home too, so they ate these for snack during the day.  Recipe is at my good eating link

Boys went exploring on our farm.  Found this 8 point buck skull in the timber & an arrow my son Josh (on right 18 yrs) lost when he was 15 yrs old hunting for a deer.  The arrow head was damaged, but the rest of the arrow was still good to reuse.

Thursday 19 May, 2010
Deer Cam to the rescue - I didn't get a picture taken today.

Friday 20 May, 2010
Okay, I didn't take a picture today, but here is one of Bucky from Thursday.  I now have posted him three weeks in a row & you can see how his rack in growing.  He's a 4 point right now.  See ya next week.

Saturday 21 May, 2010
I spent the afternoon, taking pictures of a family from church.  They are a wonderful family with 4 children.  They decided God wanted them to be foster parents who would adopt.  The were given two little girls in December, who they were suppose to adopt in a year.  Unfortunately things have change & the state has decided to move the girls into a different foster home with two of their siblings & all 4 will adopted together.  So today I took pictures of the girls & family, so the girls could have a picture to remember their foster family by.  This is Raven one of the girls.  I'm still playing with the other pictures.  Pray for Raven & her siblings because they need Jesus in their life.

Well, that is the end of my week.  Hope all of you have a wonderful week.  Can't wait to see your pics

365 Pictures 8-14 May 2011

Hi,
Well another week done and we get closer to summer.  What a great week for me to take pictures.  We had some weird weather this week.  Temperatures ranged from 60's to 90's sometimes in the same day.  Perfect tornado weather

Sunday 8 May 2011
It has started to get a little warm around here, which means the boys attic bedroom is getting hot.  A couple of weeks ago we ran the ac up there & it was fine.  But late Saturday afternoon we turn on the ac because the attic bedroom was getting hot & the compression quit working.  By 10:00pm it was cool enough to suck in cool outside air for my oldest to sleep with a fan blowing but not the younger boy, so he camp out in the living room.  This morning when he got up to take a shower, Motor quickly claimed the air mattress as his new bed.

Monday 9 May 2011
Okay, I didn't get a picture taken on today & neither did the two deer cams, but had to share these pictures anyways.  The first one if from the 10th, I had this little buck last week.  Notice his buttons have gotten bigger & are starting to spilt, so right now we know this buck will be a 4 pointer.  We are also feeding coons at the corn feeder

The 12th, a daytime picture of "Bucky" (what I named him).  You can really see his antlers well in this pictures.  Can't wait to see what he will look like next week.

Tuesday 10 May 2011
We spent the afternoon on the road going to my therapy in Bethany, then on to St. Joseph for shopping & a late Mother's Day, early Birthday supper with my mom.  On the way home I relized I didn't have a picture for the day so I ask my son Josh (18yrs) to please take a picture while I was driving if he sees anything interesting.  These are the highlights of the 50 some pictures he took
His feet kicked up & relaxing looking for something to take

My favorite in the bunch, the sun setting in the driver's side mirror.  Josh can be very creative.

Of course Josh taking a picture of himself in the passenger's side mirror

Wednesday 11 May 2011
Okay, yesterday it was hot, humid & 93 degrees.  This morning it was 68 & we had three storms between 5:45am & 8:30am.  The third storm brought hail for about 5 min. as you can see in this picture.

When the storm was over my son Josh went out & picked up a piece of hail to see how large the hail was.  Quarter size, not good since some of the farmers in the area are starting to have corn come through.

My oldest son Wood bought a new travel camera to take on his mission trip to Russia, Mongolia & China.  He was testing it out this morning & Motor decided he wanted a photo shoot and we didn't prompt him, he did these poses all on his own.  This is his "Angry Face"

This is his "I'm soooo cute" pose.  HAM!!!!

Thursday 12 May 2011
This is my good friend Elshana.  She had to have surgery on her foot about two weeks ago & is still not allowe to be on it.  So I had the wonderful blessing of fixing her family a meal & getting to visit with her for 2 hours today.  Plan to do that next week.

This is Elshana's foot, she was able to upgrade from a plaster cast to a moon boot.  YEAH!!!  But not allowed to put any weight on it until the begining of June

Friday 13 May 2011
Women of Faith Conference!!!!!!!!!!!!  I went to the WOF Conference in Des Moines with my "adoptive" mom.  It was wonderful, awesome, emotional, & a great blessing

Mary Mary in concert.

The WOF ladies on the "porch" getting down with Mary Mary.  Lucy Swindoll is my favorite speaker & it was fun watching her dance & praise the Lord with all the ladies at a young age of 78
.
The view from my hotel room.  We were on the 18th floor.  Down town Des Moines lit up at night.

Saturday 14 May 2011
My "adoptive" mom Marsha Bristley, who I spent the weekend with at the WOF conference.  She didn't legally adopt me, but was friends with my mom during my high school years.  When my mom stopped being a mom, she filled in even though she was a single mom raising three kids & had some storms she was going through at the same time I was going through mine.  The day after I graduate from high school, I was being left on my own at 18 & would have been living on the streets.  But Marsha found out what was happening & arranged for me to live with her sister as a live in nanny.  She is a super big blessing to my.  Love ya.

That is the end of my week.  Hope you had a great one & a wonderful one yet to come.  God Bless.
